2024 Board Recognition Month
January is School Board Recognition Month and an opportunity for local schools and communities to honor Oklahoma’s more than 2,700 elected board members for their dedication to children and schools.
Board meetings are just a fraction of the time and energy that school board members devote to leading our district. They are required to attend conferences and training sessions throughout the school year to maintain their seat. Our board members are deeply involved in the community activities and spend many hours in schools and at extracurricular events.
Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide framework for public schools. The Perkins-Tryon Board is responsible for an annual budget of $15 Million, 1592 students, 197 employees, and 4 school sites.
“The Perkins-Tryon Community is blessed to have such a diverse Board of Education. Each of these individuals’ have vision, dedication, and commitment to make sure our students receive the best education, and our staff have a great place to work.” – said Superintendent Doug Ogle.
The men and women serving Perkins-Tryon Public Schools and their years of service are President Erica Hering, 9 years; Vice President Jesse Johnson, 3 years; Clerk Member Becky Reedy, 2 years; Member Zach Van Horn, 1 year; and Member Darrick Rains; 1 year.
If you see one of the exceptional board members, please let them know how much they are appreciated for all that they have and continue to do for Perkins-Tryon School District.
